I know, it's like on my Top 5 list. It has to be tied for #1, because there was this one that I read on fanfiction.net that was so emotional and heartwrenching, I was sobbing through the whole thing. I don't understand how you guys make them so inspiring. I write and post Full House fanfics that I've wrote, and I try to make them that grab you out of your seat and descriptive, but they don't turn out like how I wish them to turn out. I have never gotten so invlved in a fanfic like I have with this one. Keep going Sammy, you have a talent that I dream of.

Authors Note: Thank you all so much for the support. I know I've been a big slacker and I'd pretty much be hating me right now if I were in your position, so if you are a little upset I'm sorry. I've been going through a little bit of a writer's block and now things have cleared up and I have been writing like a mad person. So without further ado here is chapter eight;
Chapter Eight
It was nearly nine o'clock as Becky slowly opened her eyes. For a moment she forgot she was sleeping Jesse's bed. Then quickly she remember. Rubbing her eyes she stared over at the clock. Sighing she pulled the covers off of her body and forced herself awake. Standing up, she heard a loud shout from downstairs.
Jesse had been awake since six o'clock that morning and hadn't gone to bed until three o'clock that night. His brain was still clogged with thoughts of the night before. What he should do. What he could do. And what was to happen with the decision he were to make. Flipping pancakes in the black pan Joey usually used, he let out a sigh.
The pancakes were starting to blacken. "Shit" he cursed. Taking his hand he quickly grabbed it out of the pan only to find himself cursing louder. As he reached to turn on the faucet, he found water already pouring from it.
"Thanks" he said looking up to see Becky. She gave a slight nod of her head, and a sympathetic smile.
"So, I'm assuming pancakes aren't going to be for breakfast?" Stephanie declared coming down the stairs.
"Uh, yeah," Jesse sighed running a hand through his hair. "How does breakfast at Kelly's sound?"
"Sounds good to me," Stephanie smiled.
"Me too," Becky added.
Jesse looked into her brown eyes with his own and didn't look like he was going to look away anytime soon. "Steph, why don't you and Deej go get ready,"
"Alright, meet you downstairs in a few," Stephanie said taking the hint.
"Jesse, I'm sorry for getting so upset with you last night," Becky told him softly. "I-I-I didn't-"
"You have nothing to apologize for," Jesse said to her, taking her hand into his own. Becky looked up at him. "You just need to know that I'm going to take care of you and this baby."
Becky nodded her head. "I know you will," she whispered softly.
Kelly's had been the Tanners favorite diner since DJ had been born. In fact that's where Danny and Pam had met those many years ago. The story was that the diner had been standing when the reptiles still walked the earth, but of course the girls were too old to believe that was true.
"Hey Mike?" Stephanie called as the old waiter came over. He had owned and ran Kelly's ever since his father Michael Sr. died.
"What can I get you sweetheart?" he asked with a soft smile.
"Another pancake?" Stephanie asked.
"Coming right up. Jess, Deej, can I get you anything?"
"No we're good, thanks Mike," DJ answered for both Jesse and herself.
"Ah great," Jesse sighed.
"What?" Stephanie asked.
"I think Michelle needs a change," he answered as he looked to the small one-year-old sitting in the highchair at the head of the table.
"We got her uncle Jesse," DJ said standing up.
"We?" Stephanie repeated looking to her sister.
"Yes, now come on," DJ told her the two of them heading toward the restrooms.
"Thanks girls," Jesse called after them.
"They're good kids," Becky told him.
"Yeah they are,"
"Must have something to do with that great uncle they've had watching over them," she smiled.
"I wish I could take credit, but really all I've done is been there to support them," Jesse said.
"You're going to be a great dad," Becky told him.
"I sure hope so," Jesse said. "So far I don't know if I've proven that though,"
"Jesse, caring enough about this child to make me keep it and wanting to be a presence in it's life is the first step to being a good father. Everything else will follow, it's all going to turn around,"
Jesse smiled, "As a matter of fact you're right," he said.
"I'm always right," Becky smirked. "But what do you mean?"
"Well, Friday the band leaves to go on tour. This could finally be our chance to make it big," Jesse told her with much enthusiasm.
"Wait, you leave on tour? What about your job-"
"This is my job. I play lead guitar. We're going to be on tour for three weeks-"
"Three weeks!"
"I know, isn't it great?" Jesse asked.
"No!"
"What?! Why not?"
"Jesse, you're leaving me for three weeks while you go and make less then minimum wadge by playing at motels-"
"Clubs Becky, we're playing at clubs-"
"You really think that you're going to be able to live off the salary of a struggling musician-"
"I'm not struggling! This could be my big break!"
"Right, your big break, I'm sure," Becky said shaking her head. "You know, I know what happens while you're on tour. You get drunk, sleep with disgusting women, and smoke pot-"
"I do not!" Jesse screamed loud enough for the entire diner to hear him. He sighed lowering his voice. "You told me you trusted me."
"I thought I could. I thought you would get a job and-"
"I do have a job-"
"Of course you do Jesse," Becky said shaking her head. She gathered her things, "Listen, you can go on tour and play guitar and get drunk and do whatever the hell you want, but me and this baby are not going to wait for you to grow up."
-----------
Jesse laid on his bed, dialing the number absent mindedly for what was probably the hundredth time that evening. And again for the hundredth tiem that evening all he got was her answering machine. "Hey Becky, this is Jesse . . . again. I know that you're not answering your phone if it's me . . . I guess I shoulda got that the first twenty times, right?" Jesse said with a soft laugh. "Listen, I don't want you to do this. I don't want you to leave and keep my child away from me. I know that you don't agree with this whole music thing but it's a part of me . . . just like you are Becky. I love you, and please just give me a chance once I come back."
The red door of the Tanner home swung open, and in walked someone who seemed to bring joy to any situation. "I'm home!" Joey Gladstone shouted, suitcase in hand. He looked around the living room to find it empty, "You guys can welcome me later!"
"Hey, Joey," Stephanie smiled coming out of the kitchen. The two of them shared a short embrace, "How was the comedy tour?"
"Not too bad," Joey answered. He looked around, "Where is everybody?"
Stephanie gave a slight laugh, "Well, you've missed quite a bit in the past three days,"
"What? Everyone moved out?"
"Well, no, but uh we're going to have a cousin entering the world in nine months . . ." Stephanie told him.
"What?!" Joey shouted he set his suitcase down. "What do you mean?"
"Uncle Jesse got Becky pregnant," Stephanie answered slowly.
"Becky? Danny's intern?"
"Yeah," Stephanie told him.
"Oh my god," Joey said in disbelief. "He got-he's going to be a father?"
"Yep, we all took it as a shock too," Stephanie said.
"What are they going to do?"
"Well, the original plan was Becky was going to stay here and the two of them were going to raise the baby, but uh . . . they got in a fight over something and she left and is back living in her appartment,"
"Where's Jesse?" Joey asked.
"He's been locked in his room," she answered watching as he quickly headed toward the stairs. Joey anxiously headed down the hallway, swinging open the door of Jesse's bedroom.
"Do you ever knock?" Jesse asked as he continued to fill the black duffle bag on his bed with clothing.
"You got Becky pregnant," Joey stated.
"Thank you Dr. Obvious, yes I did," Jesse told him.
"What are you doing?" Joey asked.
"Packing, what does it look like?" Jesse said as he walked back over to his closet.
"Why?"
"Why? Because I'm going on tour, that's why," Jesse answered.
"For how long?"
"Three weeks-"
"Wait, so you're leaving the mother of your child here alone in San Francisco-"
"Yeah," Jesse said shortly.
"You can't do that-"
"I can't?!" Jesse shouted. "Coming from the guy who has never gone through what I'm going through-"
"I may not have gone what you're going through, but I know that leaving the woman who is going to give birth to your baby is not something any man should do," Joey told him.
"I know it's not, but she left. She doesn't want me to do the whole music thing and it's not fair to force me to choose between the two. This could be my chance to make it big-"
"Well, have you ever considered what's going to happen if you do? Constantly being on the road. Sending birthday cards and gifts. Missing their first steps, first word. I mean you saw how special that is with Michelle, think about your own baby, is that really what you want to miss?" Joey asked.
"Who says I'm going to make it big? Becky doesn't think I will-"
"She probably hopes you won't," Joey told him.
"Which is exactly why we shouldn't be together," Jesse said quickly shoving more clothes into his bag. He zipped up his duffle bag and set it near the door. "We don't have the same dreams. She wants to go and be the next Katie Couric and I want to be the next Led Zepplin-"
"What about the baby? Are your dreams the same when it comes to it?"
"Well, I want to be the best father possible-You know what? When the hell did you become my therapist,"
"I'm just trying to be a good friend," Joey told him.
"Well, then just stay out of it Joey. I don't need your help on this. I don't need you to try to fix things for me and Becky, alright?"
"Okay," Joey said softly nodding his head. "I'll watch the girls while you're gone. Until Danny get's back,"
If you see her, say hello, she might be in Tangier
"Thanks man," Jesse said quietly watching as he exited the bedroom. "Hey, Joey,"
"Yeah?" he said slowly stopping and turning back around.
She left here last early spring, is livin' there, I hear
"If you see Becky . . ." he stopped for a moment. "If you see her say hello,"
"Will do,"
Say for me that I'm all right though things get kind of slow
"Jesse, the van is all loaded up, you ready to go?!" called the tatooed bassist. Jesse turned to the man, and sighed.
"Yeah, let's get going," he told him, heading toward the already dirty white van. It was time for them to go on tour. To go on a three week trip he would usually be enthusiastic to go on, but instead now dreaded.
She might think that I've forgotten her, don't tell her it isn't so
"Becky, it's me, Jesse. I just uh . . . I just left. We're on tour now . . . I hope I can see you soon. Alright, bye."
As his voice faded away, Becky bit down on her bottom lip, staring at the telephone. She longed to call him. Longed to be with him one more time. She wished he had stayed. She wished she hadn't pushed him away.
We had a falling-out, like lovers often will And to think of how she left that night, it still brings me a chill
They hadn't been on the road for more then five minutes and Jesse already regretted his decission. Leaning his head against the window he closed his eyes, images of Becky running through his mind. She was all he could see. All he could think of.
And though our seperation, it pierced me to the heart She still lives inside of me, we've never been apart.
If you get close to her, kiss her once for me I always have repsected her for busting out and gettin' free Oh, whatever makes her happy, I won't stand in the way Though the bitter taste still lingers on from the night I tried to make her stay.
Sundown, yellow moon, I replay the past I know every scene by heart, they all went by so fast
"Snake, stop the car," Jesse ordered.
"What?!" the man shouted.
"Stop the damn car!" Jesse yelled.
"Why?! What's going on?" Snake asked pulling over to the side of the road. He brought the car to a hault and looked back to the lead guitarist. Snake had been doing the lead vocals of the band and Jesse the background. He used to play the guitar but now left that part to Jesse as well.
"I'm not supposed to be here," Jesse told him. "I need to go,"
"What?!"
"Go where?!" members of the band asked with wide eyes.
"To Becky and my child-"
"Your child!"
"Yes! There the people I love. I need to be with them-"
"What about us?!"
"What about the band?"
"The tour?!"
"What are we supposed to do without you?" Snake asked talking above the other members of the band.
"You're gonna have to play you're own damn lead guitar," Jesse said opening the door.
"You leave now and you're out forever-"
"Then I guess this is it," Jesse said getting out. "The only person I need to be with is the mother of my child."
Becky quickly grabbed her jacket off of the small couch in her appartment. She knew what she had to do. Who she had to go to. Grabbing the keys to her car and slipping into her jacket she headed toward the door. Swinging it open her eyes widened as she saw the person on the other side, "Oh my god,"
Jesse quickly ran down the street, faster then he could ever remember doing. His heart raced, his mind clogged with thoughts of his one true love. He needed to get to Becky, and needed to be with his child.
As he reached the appartment building on ninth street he saw her car still there. Running into the lobby and quickly getting into an elevator he punched the number to Becky's floor. Pouncing on his toes he waited to reach it and as the elevator gave a ding and stopped he quickly sprinted out. Suddenly he spotted him outside of her room. "Becky!" he shouted.

Chapter Nine
Becky couldn't believe that he was standing in front of her. A tall and broad shouldered man, with a rough five o'clock shadow and a leather coat. He immediately opened his arms up to her and she nearly jumped into the embrace. She felt safe in his grasp. She felt as though finally something was going right and that nothing could go wrong. Then she heard a familiar voice from down the hall.
"Becky!" Jesse shouted loudly, coming toward her. "Who the hell is this?!"
"Jesse, meet Charlie-"
"You're Jesse?!" the six-foot four-inch brunette shouted.
"Yeah and who are you? An ex-boyfriend?"
"Oh you wish!" Charlie shouted.
"Guys stop-"
Jesse quickly threw a punch at the man, but found his fist caught in mid-air. Then before he knew it he was on the ground, unable to move. "Charlie stop!" Becky yelled.
"Get off of me!" Jesse shouted as Charlie held him down. "Becky who the hell is this?!"
"My younger brother, Charlie," Becky answered as she stood behind her sibling.
"So you're the idiot who got my sister pregnant?!" Charlie shouted.
"Get off of me!"
"I should pound your head in for you thinking you could stick your-"
"Charlie! Get off of Jesse! Now!" Becky ordered of her brother. Slowly Charlie Donaldson released Jesse from the strong hold and got to his feet. Slowly Jesse pulled himself up looking to Charlie with angry eyes.
"What the hell is wrong with you? You some sort of animal or something?"
"He's a cop," Becky told him.
"What's he doing here?"
"I was going to come and invite Becky to stay with me for awhile, since you weren't man enough to take her in yourself-"
"Alright, kid shut up. Becky could've stayed with me-"
"What? While you were on the road?" Becky asked. She folded her arms across her chest, "Why aren't you on the road?"
"Because I quit the band. I made a choice . . . and I chose you," Jesse told her. "I want to be here with you and this baby. I'm going to straighten out. I'm getting my diploma and I'm going to provide for you and this baby-"
"Earning quarters by playing a guitar in the park?" Charlie asked.
"You know I don't think I like you very much," Jesse said glaring over to him.
"I don't think I like you either," Charlie told him folding his arms across his chest.
"Guys please, cut it out," Becky sighed. She slowly looked to Jesse. "You really mean it?"
"Yes. I love you Becky," Jesse told her.
"I love you too," Becky said softly. The two of them quickly found themselves in an embrace, locking into a strong kiss. Charlie shook his head, leaning against the wall.
"Come on, let's go home," Jesse told her.
----------------------------
"Alright boys, just follow my voice," Becky instructed as she led both her younger brother and Jesse toward the front door of the Tanner home.
"Becky how much shit do you have?" Charlie asked as he adjusted the two boxes in his arms.
"It's not that much is it?" Becky asked.
"No of course not," Jesse remarked. The boxes prevented him from seeing, piled hire then his head. As they reached the front door he could barely hear the voices on the otherside and instead filled the living room with his own. "I'm home! And Becky is moving back in!"
"Becky? Is that the girl you got pregnant?"
Jesse dropped the boxes to the floor, his stomach now hardened. As the door clicked behind Charlie, Becky, and himself he took sight of his parents and younger half-sister. DJ, Stephanie, and Joey were also in the room a look of worry on their own faces. "What are you guys doing here?"
"A little birdie told me you got someone pregnant with my grandchild," Irene Katsopolis said.
Jesse looked to Emily. "I'm sorry Jess . . ."
"Can you not keep your mouth shut? First me, now mom and dad-"
"Don't blame this on Emily. It's your own lack of responsibility that did this," Nickolas Katsopolis told him with disgust in his voice. He looked to Becky. "So you're the woman Jesse knocked up-"
"Dad, this is Rebecca Donaldson, and yes she is carrying my baby," Jesse said. "Becky these are my parents Irene and Nick and my half-sister Emily"
"Nice to meet you," Becky said.
"So you really think Jesse is going to be able to take care of this baby?" Nick asked.
"Well, yeah, yeah I do-"
"Then you must be one stupid bimbo-"
"Dad!" Jesse shouted.
"What?!" Nick yelled back.
Jesse shook his head. "Everyone in the kitchen," he ordered. "Becky and I are going to talk with my parents alone"
Slowly Joey, and the girls headed out. Behind them Emily and Charlie slowly lingered. "I'm Charlie,"
"Emily,"
"What if I offered you a date to lunch?" Charlie asked.
"I'd probably say yes," Emily smiled.
"Wonderful," Charlie grinned as the two of them left the living room.
"I'm not suprised this has happened. Not one bit. In fact I'm suprised it didn't happen sooner," Irene told her son shaking her head. "You get this poor girl pregnant-"
"I love Becky," Jesse said. "And I'm going to take care of this baby"
"You didn't even graduate from High School. You quit your job as an exterminator-" Nick was cut off.
"Right and I'm a failure! Is that what you're trying to say?!"
"How the hell are you supposed to be a father?!" Nick yelled. "You can't take care of this baby! You are not responsible enough to have children of your own!"
"I am too! I'll prove it to you! I'm going to be a good father!" Jesse shouted.
"Jesse, no one said you were going to be a bad father. Now you and Nick just need to calm down-"
"Calm down ma?" Jesse asked. "How can you let him talk to me like this?! Talk to Becky like this!"
"You're irresponsible just like your mother! She got knocked up by that guy and had Emily-"
"You two were going to get a divorce because you're an ass dad! You're an ass and you haven't changed!"
"What makes you think you're going to be any different?!" Nick shouted. "Huh?! You think you're going to be a good father to this baby!"
"Shut up!"
"This child is better off at some adoption home-"
"It is not!" Becky spoke up. Nick snapped his head in the direction of her and gave a sharp glare. "Jesse is a good man. He came here to help Danny after your daughter died. He is capable of loving and he is capable of being a good father."
"How do you expect to get by? How are you going to make money? Whether or not Jesse is a good man isn't going to change any of that."
"I'm going to get my diploma. I'm going to get a good job and eventually we'll get a house of our own," Jesse said as he slowly wrapped an arm around Becky's waist. "And I'm eventually going to marry Becky."
"Jesse you haven't settled down since you learned to walk," Irene said. "You're rushing into things and your father and I don't want you or Becky to regret it in the future"
"There's not going to be anything to regret. I love Becky and I'm going to love my baby . . . our baby," Jesse said. "And I don't want you to be a part of it's life"
"Jesse, this baby is still going to be our grandchild," Irene told him.
"Well, then why don't you start acting like normal grandparents and be happy we are bringing it into the world!"
"Because this baby is being brought into the world because you two were being irresponsible, and you got Becky knocked up during a one night stand! Sorry if I'm not too thrilled about that Jesse!" Nick shouted. He stood up and shook his head, "What would Pam think if she were here? Huh?"
"Don't talk about her!" Jesse screamed growing defensive. Becky looked nervously from Jesse and Nick as Irene seemed to hold her breath for what was to come next. "She would have supported me dad and she would have encouraged you to do the same."
There was a strong and painful silence lurking through the living room, Jesse and Nick continuing to stare each other down. "Why don't you just get out," Jesse whispered softly.
"This isn't your house-"
"It's not yours either, now get the hell out," Jesse ordered. "Now!"
Nick shook his head and headed towards the door, stopping before he made a final exit. "Don't come crawling back to your mother and I when you need help."
"I wouldn't if my life depended on it," Jesse said watching as his father left.
"Jesse . . ." Irene started.
"Ma, just go with dad. Make sure he doesn't do anything stupid," Jesse said.
"It seems too late for that," Irene murmured. "I love you Jesse."
"I love you too mom," Jesse told her watching as she left as well. He let out a sigh as the door clicked close. "I'm really sorry about that,"
"It's alright," Becky said. "We have yet to tell my parents and I doubt their reaction will be any better."
Jesse bit softly down on his lower lip and nodded his head. He looked to the kitchen door, "You guys can come out now, I know that you were listening."
Becky and Jesse watched as the kitchen door swung open and entering were DJ, Stephanie, Joey, Emily, and Charlie. "You know, we weren't really listening," Joey said.
"Right," Becky smirked.
"Alright, so maybe just a little," Stephanie admitted. She looked to her Uncle, "So the tour must of really bombed if you're back already."
"Not exactly. I quit the band-"
"What?!" DJ shouted. "Why?"
"Well, I took some advice from a good friend," Jesse said looking to Joey. He slowly wrapped an arm around Becky. "I want to be here with the mother of my child. With all of you,"
"So you guys are going to live here?" Stephanie asked.
"Well, for the time being, yes. But I plan on making money and one of these days we'll have a house of our own," Jesse told her.
"How?" Charlie spoke up. Becky gave her younger brother a dirty look but he shook it off looking back to Jesse.
"I'm going to get my high school diploma," Jesse answered. "And continue working at Jake's-"
"At a bar?" Charlie asked.
"Charlie, I'm sure you could help Jesse get a job couldn't you? I mean te PD is always looking for help, aren't they?" Becky asked.
"Right . . ." Charlie said rolling his eyes. Becky gave him a slap to the arm. "Ow! I'll see what I can do, okay?"
"Great," Becky smiled.
Suddenly there was a loud cry heard from upstairs. "That's Michelle," Joey sighed. "I'll go get her."
"Well, I promised Steve I'd meet him at Kelly's, so I guess I'll be back for dinner time," DJ said getting up from the couch.
"And we have a lunch date," Charlie said as Emily and himself stood.
"A lunch date?" Becky asked.
"You two don't even know each other," Jesse said.
"Yeah, well I have that affect on people," Charlie smiled.
"Right . . ." Jesse said.
"Don't worry Jess," Emily told her brother.
"The only thing I'm worried about is that you're going to open your big mouth again about Becky being pregnant," Jesse remarked.
"Listen, mom and Nick pulled it out of me, I swear," Emily told him.
"Alright, alright. Just you and butthead here don't go and tell Becky's parents."
"We won't," Charlie said as the two of them left.
"Am I the only one with nothing to do?" Stephanie sighed as she climbed up the stairs. Jesse smiled shaking his head as he slowly looked to Becky.
"I'm really glad that you are going to give this a second chance," Jesse told her.
"I think I'm going to be really glad too," Becky said with a small smile. Jesse slowly wrapped his arms around her waist, and she placed her arms on his shoulders around his neck.
"I'm sorry that my parents weren't . . . they weren't good to you," Jesse said. "You didn't deserve that-"
"Well, we were being irresponsible, and that one night . . . it shouldn't have happened,"
"But are you glad it did? We get to bring a baby into this world that is going to have parts of you and of me in it," Jesse told her.
Becky smiled. "Are you sure you want to do all this? Go to High School and work, because I could get a job-"
"I'm going to take care of us," Jesse whispered to her. "I'm in love with you Becky and I'm going to marry you,"
"So is this you proposing?"
"No, not until I can do things right. When I can put a ring on your finger . . . when I can pay for a house . . . when I am finally presentable as the man you love,"
"You already are Jesse because all that matters is that I love you too," Becky told him. With that the two shared a long, passionate kiss, exchanging love that was for once pure and true.

Anything in italics is a flashback.
Chapter Nine
Jesse could barely remember why he was there. Barely stop his brain on the reason he sat in the San Francisco Memorial Hospital. Yet as he closed his eyes all he could hear was the pounding of his heart and feel the hardness of his stomach.
It seemed like only months ago, things were going perfect in Jesse's world. He had a woman he was in love with. He had a baby on the way. He was going to get his high school diploma, and he had a job. Yet at the time, maybe everything was too perfect. Maybe something was bound to go wrong. And as a matter of fact something did go wrong, on that one night . . .
Ever since committing to Becky, Jesse's life had changed drastically. His alarm clock now chimed it's annoying buzz at forty-five minutes past five o'clock, forcing him to let out a disatisfied groan. Every morning he was tempted to shut his eyes again, and drift back off into a much needed sleep, until taking sight of the figure next to him. Becky and his child were the ones he was supporting, and he planned on continuing doing just that.
The San Francisco Police Department was Jesse's first stop at six-thirty in the morning, also known as the wicked place they kept his pay check. Charlie, Becky's brother had made things fall through, and got him a job as a files clerk, doing the grunt work that no one wanted. Jesse went through mountains of paperwork and slid them away in their appropriate folders, all the while taking commands from other officers as to what folder they needed.
Working through lunch, Jesse would arrive back home at one o'clock in the afternoon, just in time for some studying. Steve was usually there to help him, his niece's girlfriend finally becoing of good use to him. Then at five o'clock Jesse headed back out for his second occupation as a bartender, where he served drinks until eleven. It was at Jake's that Jesse met the man who spun his life out of control, and his name was Johnny Giambetti.
"Hey? Hey man?! You awake?!" boomed the loud voice of a man sitting at the bar. He was dressed in a black suit, and had matching slicked back hair.
Jesse jerked awake at the voice, suprised to find his forehead resting on the wooden counter. He opened his eyes, quickly laying sight upon his new customer. "S-S-Sorry," he studdered out as he tried to take account of himself. "What can I get you?"
"A Jack Daniels," he answered with a slight smirk. He watched as Jesse grabbed a glass and shook his head. "What's got ya so tiered? This place doesn't open until five . . . you should have plenty of time to fight off fatigue,"
"Less time then you would think," Jesse said as he grabbed the bottle of Jack Daniels off of the shelf. "I'm working two jobs, and trying to get a high school diploma,"
"Sounds like you keep yourself busy," the man told him as Jesse slid him his drink. "What's your other job?"
"I work for the SFPD as a files clerk. Nothing too exciting, but it gives me enough to get by," Jesse answered.
"The SFPD, eh?" the man smiled. "Who are you tyring to provide for?"
"Family," Jesse answered. It was true. Becky and this baby were his family.
"You know kid, I bet you I could give you triple what you earn at this job and your others combine,"
"Oh really? How would you do that?" Jesse asked, only to find the man giving a slick smile. Little did he know, his problems began that night . . .
"Jesse? Jesse?" Emily Katsopolis said, her voice echoing through his head as she stood in front of him. Jesse snapped out of his trance, quickly taking sight of his younger sister, and his heart immediately sinking into his stomach.
"Em," he spoke out. "What's going on? Is she alright?"
Emily bit down on her lower lip, an obvious look of dread in her eyes. She wished for nothing more then to not have to tell her brother the news. "Jess, how about we talk over here," she suggested grabbing him by the wrist. She slowly pulled Jesse through the lobby, where the worried faces of his loved ones watched him pass. As they came to a hault on the other side of the room, Jesse nervously looked into his sister's eyes.
"What's wrong?" he asked.
Emily sucked in a long breath before speaking. "Becky's suffering from placental abruption," she answered slowly.
"What's that?" Jesse asked, already hating the diagnoisis.
"It means the placenta has seperated from the uterus too early. The placenta provides the baby with oxygen . . ." Emily said.
"So it's in danger?"
"They both are," Emily answered. "Becky is suffering from internal bleeding because of the abrpution, and the baby is now suffering from birth asphyxia,"
"Are you going to be able to save them?"
"They're preping to get the baby out right now. I'll be on hand for the surgery, but I can honestly tell you the outcomes are not favorable," Emily told him. "Listen, are you going to be alright?"
"Am I going to be alright? Emily, I'm not going to be alright until I know that Becky and this baby are!" he shouted louder then he had intended to. Swallowing hard, he slowly closed his eyes . . .
The task at hand was simple, as Johnny had explained it. The guy was a mob boss in San Francisco, working his territory to import illegal goods and firearms. The business was dangerous, but Jesse's part was a large part in ensuring that safety.
"All ya have to do, is get the file I tell you," Johnny said to Jesse as they met outside of Jake's a few days later.
"Right, but what if I get caught? You don't think the cops will notice missing papers?" Jesse asked nervously.
"You won't, as long as you don't do somethin' stupid," Johnny told him. "All you have to do is keep the cops away from my business, and to do that you erase any papers or documents linking me to murders or crimes."
"I don't know . . ." Jesse said running a hand through his hair.
"I've got something that I think can help you make a decision," Johnny told him as he reached into the pocket of his leather jacket. Jesse watched as a clip of green bills was pulled out, and placed in his hands. "Thousand bucks. Starting salary . . . now you steal what I tell you to . . . and you'll be seeing a lot more of those,"
Johnny was right. Jesse did see a lot more of those. In the first month he made ten thousand dollars, all by taking a few files from the cabinets of the PD, and safely delivering them to Johnny. He quit his job at Jake's and started to become an asset to the Giambetti organization. Johnny told him what to do, and Jesse got paid. It was simple. That was until some people started to notice . . .
"Katospolis," Charlie Donaldson said from his small metal desk as Jesse walked by.
"What?" Jesse asked.
"Have you seen the file on Johnny Giambetti?" he asked, shifting his dark eyes upward from his work.
"Uh . . . not recently," Jesse said, lying the best he could. "Why? You need it?"
"No, it's just some of other officers have noticed some missing files and that's just one of them . . . and since you're the only one who's constantly going through the cabinets . . .I was wondering if you knew where they dissapeared to," Charlie said.
Jesse shook his head. "Nope, but I'll keep an eye out," he said.
Charlie gave a slight nod of approval, before giving him another suspicous look. "You quit your job at Jake's?"
"Yeah . . . yeah, I did. Got tiered of the twelve hour days," Jesse said.
"Right . . ."
Unfortunately Charlie's suspiciouns didn't stop there. It was bad enough that he still hated Jesse, but now that he was catching on to his recent doings, he couldn't help but hate Becky's brother more . . .
"Becky, you've got to believe me," Charlie said to his sister as they stood in the living room of the Tanner home.
"Sorry Charlie, but I don't. Jesse wouldn't do anything for this Giambetti guy . . . he wouldn't risk the baby and I," Becky told him.
"Alright, then how else do you explain it?"
"Someone misplaced them-"
"Right, and since that happens all of the time, it's completely dismissable," Charlie said folding his arms across his chest.
"Listen, I know you don't trust Jesse, but you can't go around making false accusations-"
"Did you know he quit his job at Jake's?" Charlie asked.
"Yes, I did," Becky said.
"Well, have you noticed how much more money he brings into the household? Am I the only one not putting these two clues together? He got another job, and another job that pays a hell of a lot more-"
"He is not working for a mob boss! He wouldn't lie to me!"
"Oh, he wouldn't?! Becky, the guy is a high school drop out-"
"He is getting his diploma!" Becky yelled.
"Don't trust him," Charlie snapped at her.
"Don't trust who?" Jesse asked as he opened the door of the house. He slowly walked down the two steps from the front door, down into the living room and looked curiously at Charlie and Becky. "Something you want to talk to me about?"
"No," Becky answered as he took a stand by her. "Nothing at all,"
Charlie gave Becky a sharp glare, as he let out a long sigh. "I've got to get to the station. I took the night shift,"
"I guess that means I'll be seeing you tomorrow?" Jesse asked Charlie as he headed for the door.
Charlie slowly nodded his head. "Yeah . . ." he said before leaving.
Jesse looked to Becky as the door clicked closed. "You sure there isn't anything I should know about?" he asked.
"Yeah, I'm sure," Becky said nodding her head. He slowly placed his arms around her waist, pulling her in closer, as she rested hers on his shoulders. "Can I ask you something?"
"Anything,"
"Would you ever lie to me?" Becky asked.
Jesse stared into her brown eyes, feeling everything inside of him want to blurt out the truth but he instead shook his head. "Never . . ."
"What do you think is taking so long?" Jesse asked as he paced in the waiting area of the hospital.
"Jesse, I'm sure everything is fine," Danny Tanner assured his brother in law. He sat with Joey on his left side and Stephanie on his right. Vicky had stayed home with Michelle, while the rest of the Taners had rushed to the San Francisco Memorial.
"Everything is not fine . . . everything stopped being fine the moment she collapsed," Jesse said to him as he ran a hand through his black locks of hair. He shook his head. "Danny . . . if something happens . . . I don't know if I'll-"
"Don't talk that way," Joey said to his friend, who was obviously distressed. "Becky's strong and she'll pull through this,"
"Joey's right . . . for once," Danny added as he gave Jesse a sympathetic look. He watched as he slowly took a seat in the chairs across from the three of them. Sitting down next to DJ and Steve, Jesse slowly ran a hand through his hair.
"This is my fault," he sighed.
"What are you talking about? It's a medical condition . . . or at least that's what you told us," DJ said looking to her uncle confused.
Jesse shook his head. "Johnny . . . he wouldn't have been at the house if I hadn't . . . if I . . ."
"Jess, Johnny who? Was that the guy who was at the house?" Danny asked growing concerned.
"His name is Johnny Giambetti . . ." Jesse said slowly.
"A mob boss in San Francisco," finished a familiar voice behind the group. Jesse slowly turned to find Charlie standing there with arms folded across his chest. "You've been working for him, haven't you?"
Jesse nodded his head . . .
"They're starting to take notice. Charlie already suspects me-"
"So we'll get one of the guys to take care of it," Johnny said simply as Jesse stood in the man's office.
"What? No! I don't want him killed," Jesse told him quickly. "I just . . . I don't know if I can keep doing this,"
"Listen, I need you Katsopolis . . . You serve me once and you serve me for as long as I need you," Johnny warned, his tone causing Jesse to shudder. He watched as the man pulled open a drawer of his desk, and pulled out a weapon Jesse recognized as a 9mm gun. "I want you to take this with you tonight-"
"What do you mean tonight?" Jesse asked.
"Well, you said people are starting to notice. You don't want to get caught, so you just go in when no one is suspecting it. The evening is the perfect opportunity," Johnny told him. He slowly put the gun on the table, Jesse eyeing it nervously. "The file I want you to get tonight, is a treasure larger then you can imagine . . . one of my enemies . . . Rodriguez . . . might be sending his men to get it from you-"
"I'm not carrying a gun with me," Jesse said quickly.
"Katsopolis, you don't have a choice," Johnny told him with a slight smile.
Johnny was right yet again, Jesse didn't. He had reluctantly taken the gun that was loaded with a full clip, and stuck it in his waist band. The PD was as busy as it usually was, but Charlie and some of the other officers weren't there. Most were to tiered to take the night shift on a Friday night. He felt his heart racing, and beads of sweat rolling down his neck as he made his way to the front door of the building.
"What ya doing here Katsopolis?" asked the guard at the door.
"Left something behind. Alright if I go in and get it?" Jesse asked him as calmly as he could.
"No problem," the man smiled at him, before stepping out of the way of the door. Jesse quickly opened the door and made his way inside. He kept focused and quiet, silently making his way toward the file cabinet. No one spotted him and if they did, no one suspected him of doing anything wrong.
As he reached the file cabinet he quickly pulled open the drawer, going through the files with fast fingers. Spotting the papers he needed, he quickly slide them out of the file, and folded them so they fit in his pocket. Closing the drawer he let out a long sigh, and looked around. No one was watching him and he could consider himself safe. For now, that was.
"You find what you need?" the same guard asked as Jesse exited.
"Yep," Jesse told him as he continued down the street. He had a mile to walk on foot to get to Giambetti's office, and he knew that it might be the longest mile of his life. As he wandered through the back roads and alley ways, he could have sworn he heard footsteps behind him. Coming to a hault, he looked behind him to find no one. Shaking his head, he continued on, only to hear the noise again, and stopped a second time. This time when he turned around he spotted two men dressed in black. "Can I help you?"
"Yeah . . ." one of them said coming toward him. "You work for Giambetti, don't you?"
"No . . ." Jesse said. "I work for the SFPD as a files clerk-"
"One who happens to have the papers that our boss would like to have?" the other man asked.
"No," Jesse answered quickly as he took a step back. "I don't know what you're talking about-"
"Search him," the small man ordered to his partner. Jesse watched in fear as the small man pulled out a gun, and pointed it at him as the tall one started to grab him. Acting on pure extinct Jesse quickly shoved the man away, kicking him in the groin. Then in one quick motion, he pulled the gun out of his waistband, using a shaky finger to pull down on the trigger. He had closed his eyes the entire time, having no experience with a firearm in his entire life. Yet when he opened his eyes, he knew what had happened.
The body lay limp and still. No signs of movement came from him, and as the pool of blood surrounding him grew larger, Jesse felt himself become even more worried. He couldn't believe what he had done. He didn't mean to, that was for sure. He wasn't even thinking when he had done it. They were attacking him and he had simply tried to defend himself. He watched as the other taller man, sprinted off down the alley way, and then without commanding his legs to do so, found himself doing the same thing.
DJ and Steve were one the couch with locked lips, when the front door of the Tanner home swung open. The two quickly pulled away from each other, at the unexpected visitory, but felt at ease realizing it was Jesse. DJ watched as her uncle walked past them, and toward the stairs, climbing them in a strange manner. "Uncle Jesse?" she said puzzled at his actions. This was not the man she knew.
Jesse nearly ran to the bathroom as he reached the second floor, closing the door and locking it behind him. He stared at himself in the mirror for a moment, his hands resting on the sink. His eyes held a fear he did not recognize and his heart continued to beat faster. His hands still shook as they held him up, and suddenly he felt his mouth become hot.
Quickly Jesse turned to the toliet, reaching it just in time. As he finished, he quickly wiped his mouth with the back of his hand, and returned to the sink. Turning on the cold water, he rinsed out his mouth, and washed down his face. Letting the water drip from his chin back into the sink, he closed his eyes. Swallowing hard he slowly backed away from the sink, and bumped into the wall. Letting his legs give out, he slid down to the floor and burried his head into his hands . . .
"I knew that it was you . . . I just knew it," Charlie Donaldson said with anger in his voice as he stared at Jesse. He shook his head. "To think I got you that job . . . you know you're going to make me look like an idiot once the PD finds out-"
"I'm sorry," Jesse apologized as he ran a hand through his hair. "I just needed . . . I just needed a way to provide for Becky and the baby. And things were getting so hard. It seemed like a harmless solution-"
"Harmless?!" Charlie shouted. "Becky is in surgery right now! One that she and this baby might not make it out of! And Giambetti was the last guy at your house-"
"You don't think I know that?!" Jesse asked rising from his chair. "You act as though I wanted this to happen!"
"You should have known like something like it would! You're messing with the law Jesse! You're double crossing the PD and you're involving yourself in something illegal!" Charlie yelled.
"You guys, calm down," Danny said rising from his seat. He slowly stood between Jesse and Charlie. "Becky is in surgery right now, and I'm sure the last thing she wants is you two arguing like this,"
"I tried to warn her about you . . ." Charlie said. "If she would've just listened, maybe none of this would've happened,"
"It's a medical condition," Jesse told him. "Maye it was going to anyway,"
"How can you even live with yourself?" Charlie asked.
"I honestly don't know . . ."
After his incident with Johnny's enemies, Jesse could barely look at himself in the mirror. Who had he become? He had turned into a murderer . . . he had shot a man. He had used his hands to do filthy work. He was ashamed.
Walking through the SFPD the morning after stealing the files, he was sure he was going to give himself away. But he never did. No matter how much they talked about the files, or mentioned Johnny's name, Jesse stayed silent.
"Hey, Jesse," Charlie greeted to him as he headed through the department. "Frank said you stopped by last night?"
"Frank?" Jesse asked.
"The security guard out front," Charlie explained.
"Oh . . . yeah. My watch," Jesse told him quickly, rolling up his sleeve to reveal the silver diver's watch. "Left it on the bathroom sink,"
Charlie gave a slight nod of his head, "Guess there's some more missing files,"
"That's weird," Jesse said.
"No kidding," Charlie agreed. "You hear about that guy who got shot in the allyway a few blocks away?"
"N-n-no," Jesse studdered out. "Why? What happened?"
"Not sure yet. Ryan's working on the case. Guess he's still alive though. He was found just in time-"
"Thank god," Jesse breathed out.
Charlie looked at him strangely, "What's it matter to you?"
"Well . .. I hate to see an innocent man die, that's all," Jesse answered.
"He wasn't exactly innocent. Worked for some guy involved with organized crime," Charlie said. "I'm sure the guy who shot him was just another rival . . ."
"Yeah . . . probably . . ."
Jesse knew what he had to do when he entered the office of Johnny Giambetti. The man wasn't there and that made his mission all the more easy. He was relieved that the man he had shot was still alive but still worried about what were to happen if the evidence pointed to him being the shooter.
Ruffling through the drawers of Johnny's desk, he looked for the files he had stolen for him. There were probably ten of them, all tucked away in a single spot. Pulling them out and putting them under his jacket, he headed out, planning to return them, and in away take back the bad he had done.
It was only a week after stealing the files back and returning them to the PD that Jesse's worst fears had come true. When he opened the front door of the Tanner home after a long day at work, his heart stopped at the sight in front of him.
"Jesse . . . glad to see you home," Johnny Giambetti said as he closed the door behind him. Becky stood with a look of confusion and fear on her face as Jesse looked around.
"What's going on?" Jesse asked.
"Found out you took the files back-"
"Jesse, what the hell is he talking about?" Becky asked him as he stood next to her. "He keeps talking about you working for him-"
"I don't," Jesse said.
"That's a lie," Johnny told him. "And if you don't give me back those papers I'll kill you-"
"The files are at the PD where they belong," Jesse said to him. "I'll call the police on you if I have to-"
"I think I'm going to do that right now-"
"No, you're not," Johnny snapped at Becky. "Your man here has betrayed me-"
"Jesse didn't do anything!" Becky shouted at him. "You're crazy, and you can either get out of here or I can call the cops to take you out of here-"
"Fiesty, aren't you?" Johnny snickered. "I'd be careful! Defending a man who packs a gun and lies to your face-"
"He would never do that!" Becky shouted in Jesse's defense. "He wouldn't lie to me . . "
"Jesse . . . come on, you might as well tell her what youv'e been doing for me. I mean, she has to be suspicious of all the money you've been bringing in," Johnny said.
Jesse swallowed hard, "Becky . . . I-"
"Jesse . . . you've been lying to me this whole time?" Becky asked turning to him.
"No . . . well, I-"
"You've been working for this guy! Charlie was telling the truth!" Becky yelled. "How could you lie to me?! How-ah . . . oh god . . ."
"Becky?" Jesse said growing concerned as she placed a hand onto her stomach.
"Oh god . . . Jesse, the baby," Becky choked out before collapsing backward. Jesse quickly grabbed her before she could hit the floor, and looked up just in time to see Johnny sprint out of the house.
"Becky?" Jesse said. "Becky? Help! Somebody help!"

"Jesse . . . Jesse, wake up," said a soft voice, as Jesse felt himself shook. Slowly he blinked open his eyes, taking in account his surroundings. He immediately took sight of Emily, and found that he had fallen asleep across three lobby chairs, his jacket serving as a blanket. Sitting up, he found his back stiff and uncomfortable from his recent sleeping position.
"How's Becky?" Jesse asked, his voice cracking from sleep.
Emily gave a smile, "She made it out of surgery," she told her.
Jesse felt his heart lift, "What about the baby?"
"Well . . . you can see him if you'd like,"
"Him?" Jesse asked with a slight smile.
"Yeah," Emily answered. "A beautiful little boy . . ."
Rebecca Donaldson slowly blinked open her eyes, finding the sound of beeping machines, and a heart monitor filling her ears. As she fully awakened, she found that she was indeed in a hospital room, and on instinct reached for her stomach. A feeling of fear came over her. Was the baby alright? What had happened?
Then suddenly, the door opened and entering was a familiar face. "Jess?" Becky croaked out.
"Hey," he said slowly walking inside, carefully holding the bundle of joy in his arms. He had a grin on his face as he stared down at the infant wrapped in a blue blanket. "I think that there's someone who you'd probably like to meet,"
Becky's eyes widened, "Jesse . . ." she breathed out, feeling a lump rise in her throat. He slowly reached her bedside, and taking a seat on the matress, handed her the baby. She craddled him in her arms, staring down at the baby, and feeling tears sting her eyes. He had green eyes like his father's, and a tiny tuff of dark hair. "He's beautiful,"
"Just like his mom," Jesse said.
"What happened?" Becky asked.
"You had a medical condition," Jesse answered slowly. "I almost lost you . . . and this little guy,"
Becky smiled as she stared down at the infant, "What's his name?"
"I was leaving that for you," Jesse said.
Becky thought for a moment, keeping her eyes on her son, "Jack . . ." she said slowly. "Jack Christopher Katsopolis,"
Jesse grinned, "I love it," he told her. "But Katsopolis? He's going to take my last name?"
"Yes," Becky answered with a nod of her head, looking up at him with her brown eyes.
"That's good," Jesse said. "Because I was hoping one day . . . you could take my last name too,"
Becky gave a soft smile, "We still have a lot of things to work out Jesse . . . like what happened with that Giambetti guy . . . what did happen?"
"I made a mistake. But everything is better now. I did what I had too . . . I talked with your brother. Things are going to be okay again . . . I think," Jesse said. "So long as you stay with me,"
"You know I will," Becky told him. "I love you,"
"I love you too," Jesse said. "And that's why I wanted . . . well, I knew this probably wasn't the best time, but at the same time I think it is. With Jack born and healthy . . . I want you to marry me,"
Becky's eyes widened as Jesse reached into his pocket and pulled out a black box. Opening it up, he revealed a diamond ring. "Will you?" he asked.
"Jesse, I . . . oh wow," Becky said. She felt tears running down her cheeks as she gave a smile, "Yes,"
Jesse grinned as he took the ring out of it's box, and slid it onto her finger. Then without hesitation he quickly kissed her, sucking in a long embrace of passion.
It was a warm June day when Becky and Jesse became Mr. and Mrs. Katsopolis. After all the hardships and challenges, the two still ended up together, starting their family with Jack. As far as Johnny Giambetti went, Jesse never heard from him again . . . at least not until Charlie arrested him. Speaking of Charlie, Jesse and him found a common ground. After finding out about Jesse returning the files and proving his love to his older sister, he couldn't help but cover for him.
It seemed that things were going good for Jesse and Becky, including the rest of the Tanner household. Everyone was happy and everything seemed perfect. The house on Gerrard Street was a little fuller, that was for sure, but it was still full of love. And home to a powerful love, shared by both Jesse and Becky. A love that was unbreakable . . . and started on one night.
THE END
